The Barbados Food and Rum Festival

The Barbados Food and Rum Festival has been held for 12 years featuring local and international chefs, renowned rum producers and culinary personalities.

In 2022, the festival returned after a two-year hiatus with a new theme entitled “Feed the Future”. This theme is part of the festival’s goal to empower the next generation of culinary talents while nurturing the future of Barbadian cuisine

The Junior Chef Cook-off Competition was established in 2022 to help execute this goal. Young aspiring chefs participated in a training programme and then battled it out in a 3-round competition with two winners receiving scholarships to a culinary institute. This year the competition will be held once again with a few new exciting elements.

The 2023 Edition

This year the festival will be held from October 19-October 22nd and will further fulfil this theme.

The 2023 edition will feature seven signature events; Rise & Rum, Liquid Gold Feast, Oistins Under the Stars, Rum Route, Chef Classics and the Bajan Fair which is a new family-friendly addition.

There will also be community pop-ups and the Culture of Cuisine lectures.
